This is a neat - and actually rarely encountered item: a later-war-period-, WH (Heeres) ie. 'officers'-type-, so-called: 'M44'-pattern-, trapezoid-shaped breasteagle, being a silver-coloured example as executed in neat 'BeVo'-weave, flat-wire-pattern on a darker-green-coloured background that comes in a virtually mint- ie. unissued, condition. The piece on offer here was never folded- nor trimmed and comes as straigthly 'cut-off the role' (see pictures). This was the 'standard'-issue WH-eagle as was intended for usage on the various officers-type tunics and that was intended to replace the more common-type (and as such was much easier to apply). The piece on offer here was never issued: it bears some truly minimal staining, simply caused by years of storage only. I deem that I have priced this interesting - and with certainty rarely seen! - 'officers'-related-, so-called: 'M44'-pattern breast-eagle accordingly!
