'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' being a neatly maker- (ie. 'L/18'-) marked example that comes mounted onto its period- and confectioned ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt'

The attractive and desirable piece - which was surely issued but that was I deem hardly worn - came mounted onto its folded (and confectioned and approx. 8 cms. long-sized-) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') that still retains its period (copper-toned) 'clip'. The cross - which shows a clearly present makers'-designation: 'L/18' stamped into its ring - was with certainty never cleaned and has an attractive age-patina: it shows a minimally tarnished, 'frosted' silver-toned finish and has a minimally darkened- (ie. somewhat 'blackened'- ie. stained) finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. somewhat matted-) core: it is void of any paint-loss (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an (unusually seen!) maker-marked LDO-specimen that was produced by the desirable maker: 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt' as was based in the town of Pforzheim (ie. 'Hersteller 26'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive, and clearly maker-marked LDO-type 'EK II. Klasse' that is I deem accordingly priced!
