Never before seen, TR-period commemorative-medal (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. tragbare Medaille') showing a WH (LW) eagle-device and text/date: '1942 Luftsperrabteilung 2/101' and showing on its back an illustration of a: 'Sperrballon'

This is an attractive - unusual ie. never before seen and with certainty not that often- (ie. most certainly very scarcely) encountered! - silver-toned- (and I deem genuine silver-based) TR-period commemorative-medal (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. tragbare Medaille') showing on its front a WH (Luftwaffe) eagle-device and text/date: '1942 - Luftsperrabteilung 2/101' and showing on its back a detailed illustration of a: 'Sperrballon' and unit-designation-shield and that comes in an overall nicely preserved, condition. The neat - medium-sized- and/or regular-weight-piece having an approximate diameter of approximately 3,2 cms. - has truly pronounced detail and was I deem never cleaned nor polished: it has maintained a neat silver-toned age-patina (but also shows some minimal tarnish as can be noticed on the pictures). These neat - semi-official - Luftwaffe-related presentation-pieces were I deem used as some sort of awards as (presumably) handed-out at related gatherings or alike. The piece originates from a private-household in Germany where it was recently uncovered as issued and stored for decades. I deem that this piece would merit further investigative work. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty unusually encountered! - WH (Luftwaffe) honorary-award (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. tragbare Medaille') that is in my opinion accordingly priced!
