Category:

  1. Iron Cross

The truly attractive piece - which was surely issued but that was (I deem) simply never worn nor used - came together with its pre-folded and/or non-confectioned (and approx. 29 cms. long-sized) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The cross - which shows a clearly stamped makers'-designation: '85' stamped into its ring (as can be noticed on the pictures) - was with certainty never cleaned and has a superb and/or attractive age-patina: it has a somewhat tarnished appearance and has lost its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides): it has a typical darkened- (ie. somewhat 'blackened'- ie. stained) finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. somewhat matted-) core: it is totally void of any damage nor paint-loss (as can be seen on the pictures). The (magnetic) piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the desirable (and unusally seen!) maker named: 'Julius Pietsch' as was based in the town of Gablonz a.d. N. (ie. 'Hersteller 85'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a superb, neatly maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
