Truly worn - and neatly maker- (ie. '16'-) marked! - example of a black-class wound-badge (or: 'Verwundeten-Abzeichen in Schwarz') as was produced by the (unusually seen!) maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Alois Rettenmaier'
Category:
The attractive - and I deem issued and most certainly used- and/or worn! - black-class WB on offer here does show some regular wear and aging and retains a fair bit of its original, black-coloured- and/or somewhat 'matted' finish: it was clearly issued and worn and was stored as such over the years. The badge is as stated neatly maker-marked with the (as more often vaguely but surely present, super-imposed makers'-designation: '16' as is visible on the back of the badge above the swastika (as can be seen on the pictures) signifying that it deals with a piece that was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Alois Rettenmaier' based in the town of Schwäbisch-Gmund. Of interest is the fact that this example shows an 'integrated catch ie. pin-set-up: both are 'casted with the badge itself). Of course, are the (regular- ie. thin-shaped-) pin and/or (typical) catch (-set-up) fully functional and of course present. This piece has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished: it shows some minimal dust and/or staining as to be expected (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive - and neatly maker-marked! - black-class WB that is priced according to its scarcity and/or desirability!
