This is an attractive - and actually scarcely found! - example of a Prussian Order of the Red Eagle 4th class (ie. 'Preussischer Roter Adler Orden der 4. Stufe') being an example that (I deem) originated from the period 1871-75 and that came together with its period (minimally confectioned, nicely folded and I deem non-shortened ie. 18 cms. long-sized) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as issued and/or stored for decades. The award is executed in (minimally blackened- ie. somewhat tarnished, silver-based metal and has very pronounced detail as to be expected. The piece - that shows a (somewhat vaguely-stamped) makers'-designation in its ring that (I deem) reads: 'L/1' retains its colourful (enamelled ie. hand-painted!) 'centre-piece' showing the bright-red-coloured eagle-device (that shows a hardly noticable 'hair-crack' as is more often the case). The piece is furthermore void of enamel-damage and was never cleaned nor polished. Simply an attractive specimen of this interesting Prussian-award that is with certainty accordingly priced!
