This is an attractive - albeit cleary ie. moderately used and/or worn but nevertheless quite desirable! - example of an Iron Cross 1st class (or: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse') being a nicely preserved example as was executed in the scarcely observed, so-called: 'screw-back'- (ie. 'An der Schraube'-) pattern, being a typical non-maker-marked example that was (I deem) produced by the (desirable!) 'Steinhauer & Lück'-company as was based in the town of Lüdenscheid and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. The cross - which is a (typical) minimally-vaulted ie. somewhat converse-shaped as to be expected - has I deem never been cleaned and retains a neat, somewhat blackened- ie. tarnished age-patina and/or great pronounced detail. This example comes mounted onto its functional 'screw-back'- (ie. 'an der Schraube'-) set-up. The small-sized 'pin' (present to additionally and firmly attach the cross onto a tunic) is also still present an in place (as can be seen on the pictures). This piece - which shows a 'blackened' and/or fairly 'satin-like'- ie. 'matted' inner core shows hardly any wear (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross is just a bit dirty and tarnished simply caused by years of storage and/or moderate wear but retains a great unmessed-with and/or uncleaned, age-patina. Simply an attractive - and fairly unusually encountered! - IC-first-class that was recently uncovered at a private-houshold in Germany and that was never before part of a collection: I deem that I have priced this attractive IC first-class on its 'An der Schraube'-set-up, accordingly!
