This is a truly attractive - and just moderatelt used! - example of an: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) as was executed in the scarcely observed, so-called: 'screw-back-version', being (I deem) an 'L/50': 'Gebrüder Godet' (ie. 'Hersteller L/50'-) marked example that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem issued- albeit hardly worn- nor used-), condition. The cross - which is a typical minimally vaulted (ie. minimally converse-shaped) example as to be expected - has I deem never been cleaned and retains a somewhat blackened- (ie. minimally tarnished-) age-patina and/or great pronounced detail. This example - which is (I deem) an evident specimen as produced by the: 'Gebrüder Godet' based in the town of Berlin - comes mounted onto its fully functional 'screw-back'- (ie. 'an der Schraube'-) set-up. The small-sized 'pin' (present to additionally and/or firmly attach the cross to a tunic) is naturally also present and in place (see pictures). This piece - which shows a 'blackened' and/or fairly 'satin-like'- ie. 'matted' inner core that hardly shows any wear - has all the specific specifications of a by: 'Godet'-produced screw-back-IC (the makers'-code 'L/50' is somewhat vaguely stamped in lower-section under the small pin on its back as to be expected). It is just a bit dirty and tarnished simply caused by years of storage and/or minimal wear but retains a great unmessed-with and/or uncleaned, age-patina: the piece had lost its polished-sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten') and originates from a private household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply a truly attractive - and actually fairly unusually encountered! - IC-first-class that was recently uncovered at a private-household and that was never before part of a collection: I deem that I have priced this attractive IC first-class by the 'Gebr. Godet'-company, accordingly!
