This is an attractive - and with certainty not that often encountered! - silver-toned- (ie. typical zinc- or 'Feinzink'-based), WHW- (ie. 'Winterhilfswerke'-) related, commemorative-plaque (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Medaille') entitled: 'Grossdeutschland kämpft für den Frieden gegen den Schandvertrag von Versailles - 1939' (and that shows on its back the superimposed text: 'Kriegswinterhilfswerk 1939-40 - Grenzgau-Opfergau - Kriegsopfertag - 24.-25.2.1940 - Kreis Pforzheim' and that comes as issued and/or stored for decades. The neat - medium-sized- and/or regular-weight-piece that shows on its front an illustration of a soldier (with steel-helmet), tiny 'Reichsadler'-device, some working farmers and the above-mentioned text - has an approximate diameter of 4,3 cms. and has pronounced detail as to be expected. It was - I deem - never cleaned nor polished and has maintained a neat (somewhat matted- ie. frosted-) silverish-grey-toned age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece originates from a private-household in Germany where it was recently uncovered as issued and stored for decades. Simply an attractive - and with certainty unusually encountered! - 'WHW'- (ie. 'Winterhilfswerke'-) related, table-medal ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Medaille' that is I deem accordingly priced!
