Scarcely seen, 'EK II. Klasse' being a maker- (ie. '123'-) marked example that comes with its original and once-mounted ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Beck, Hassinger & Co.'

The truly attractive piece - which was surely issued but that was I deem hardly worn! - came together with its folded, confectioned and approx. 17 cms. long-sized ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The cross - which shows a clearly stamped makers'-designation: '123' in its ring as more often - was with certainty never cleaned and has an attractive age-patina: it shows a somewhat tarnished silver-toned finish (most of its 'hochpolierte Kanten' have faded-away) and the cross shows a minimally darkened- (ie. somewhat 'blackened'- ie. stained) finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'-) core: it is totally void of any real damage nor paint-loss (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident maker- (ie. '1w3'-) marked specimen that was with certainty produced by the desirable - and scarcely observed! - maker: 'Beck, Hassinger & Co.' as was based in the town of Strassbourg (ie. 'Hersteller 1w3'): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive, clearly maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that is I deem accordingly priced!
