This is an attractive - albeit just minimimally used! - example of an (I deem) mid-war-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being a typical non-maker-marked and magnetic (and/or minimally-vaulted) example as was (I deem) produced by the company: 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt' as was based in the town of Pforzheim (ie. 'Hersteller 26') and that comes as recently found. The neat cross comes in an overall nice- (albeit minimally used ie. worn-), condition (as can be seen on the pictures). The typical magnetic cross retains a very nice age-patina and truly retains great pronounced detail: the black-coloured (and somewhat 'matted') core is void of any paint-loss and is nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece truly retains most of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or polished sides) and is just a tiny bit tarnished but was never cleaned nor polished. The typical (flute-shaped) pin and/or catch (ie. set-up) are naturally fully unaltered and/or of course still functional. Simply an attractive - and I deem mid-war-period! - 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' as was produced by the maker: 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt' and that was never before in a collection and that is I deem with certainty accordingly priced!
