This is an attractive - and actually fairly scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres) 'Gebirgsjäger'-related, so-called: 'Traditions-Abzeichen' (or: 'Plakette' as officially known per regulation) as executed in golden-toned, zinc-based pot-metal (ie. 'Feinzink') and that comes naturally complete with its original pin- ie. catch attachment. The badge - only sized: 3,5 x 3 cms. - is truly very detailed and depicts the famous 'Edelweiss'-flower coupled with the text: '6.G.D.'. The badge on offer here has never been cleaned nor polished and shows truly great and/or pronounced detail: it still retains (all) of its lacquered finish and was - I deem - hardly worn nor used. As possiblly known were these (actually semi-official!) badges also properly entered in both 'Wehrpass' and/or 'Soldbuch': they also were handed-out with an official award-document. Simply a neat 'Gebirgsjäger'-related: 'Truppentraditionsabzeichen' that will be impossible to be upgraded!
