This is an attractive - and actually fairly scarcely encountered! - so-called: 'Traditions-Abzeichen' (or 'Plakette' as officially known per regulation) as executed in zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') and that comes naturally complete with its original pin- ie. catch attachment. The badge - only sized: 3,5 x 2,5 cms. - is quite detailed and depicts an illustration of a sword and bunker in the background and that shows the text: 'Westwall - 215. Div. - 1939'. The badge on offer here has never been cleaned nor polished and shows truly great and/or pronounced detail: it still retains some of its lacquered finish and was - I deem - clearly worn and/or used (it was never cleaned and is still a bit tarnished i. stained). A similar example of this badge is also pictured in the Heering-Hüsken 'Abzeichenkatalog', wherein it is given the unique reference-number '9817A' and wherein it is given an estimated value of 225 Eu. As possiblly known were these (actually semi-official!) badges also properly entered in both 'Wehrpass' and/or 'Soldbuch': they also were handed-out with an official award-document. Simply a very nice 'Infanterie-related: 'Truppentraditionsabzeichen' that will be hard to be upgraded and that is with certainty accordingly priced!
