Category:
This medal (ie. 'Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938') was awarded to all members of the armed forces that participated in the German occupation of Czechoslovakia that started on: '1. Oktober 1938' and is a very attractive and/or detailed- (albeit issued- but simply never worn- nor mounted!) example having great pronounced detail. The medal on offer here came with its (never-attached!) so-called: 'Prager Burg Spange' and both award and 'Spange' have a very nicely preserved, (bright)golden-yellow-toned finish showing hardly any tarnish nor staining: both have, however, never been cleaned nor polished and truly retain all of their period golden-toned finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The detailed medal came with its non-confectioned- (ie. non-folded-) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') and came with- (ie. came stored in-) its typical, beige-coloured (and typical 'Zellstoff'-based) pouch etui (which comes in an equally nicely preserved condition): this pouch is void of any text on its front and shows on its back the printed makers'-designation: 'Eugen Schmidhäussler - Pforzheim'. This pouch is also void of any real damage but does show some minimal age- and/or handling-marks (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply a very attractive - and fully complete! - Czech 'Anschluss'-medal and 'Prager Burg Spange'-set that is - I deem - accordingly priced!
