This is an attractive example of an - actually fairly unusally- ie. truly scarcely seen! - (somewhat darkened) golden-bronze-toned, so-called: 'Einzelspange' showing a: 'Kriegsverdienstmedaille 1939' (or: War Merits'-medal 1939) being a (typical) non-maker-marked- and I deem zink- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen that comes in an overall nice- (albeit surely issued- and/or worn-), condition. The detail on this example is extraordinary: it has never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and somewhat 'frosted'- (ie. tarnished) age-patina. The medal is 'mounted' onto a metal-based clasp (that is neatly backed with a piece of bordeaux-red-coloured wool) as was intended for wearing this example on a 'going-out'- ie. dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock'. This example retains pronounced details and has a great ie. minimally darkened- ie. tarnished age-patina: it truly retains almost all of its bronze-toned finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The bright-orange-red- (and white-/black-) coloured ribbon shows only minimal usage and/or staining (it shows a blue-coloured ink-stain on its outer right side (as can be noticed on the pictures). It should specifically be mentioned that it is actually quite unusual to find a: 'Kriegsverdienstmedaille 1939' mounted as an: 'Einzelspange'!
