Superb, commemorative bronze-based, D.L.V.- (ie. 'Deutscher Luftsportsverband'-) related plaque (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Plakette') showing various balloons and planes, detailed DLV-logo and text: '1. Fliegertreffen - Berlin 1934'

This is a truly very attractive - and with certainty rarely encountered! - (darkened) golden-bronze-coloured (and I deem genuine bronze-based!) so-called: D.L.V.- (ie. 'Deutscher Luftsportsverband'-) related plaque (ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Plakette') showing a very detailed and pronounced illustration of various balloons and planes, pronounced DLV-logo and text that simply reads: '1. Fliegertreffen - Berlin 1934' and that comes as stored for decades and that comes in an overall very nicely preserved- (and totally undamaged-), condition. The neat oval-shaped (and somewhat larger-sized piece) that measures approximately 10 x 9 cms.) has truly pronounced detail and was never cleaned nor polished: it has maintained a neat and somewhat 'darkened' age-patina (but also shows some minimal tarnish and usage-marks as can be seen on the pictures). Of interest is, moreover, the fact that its front shows a logo of the designer (that reads '4+ WS' or alike). The back of the piece shows a clearly-present makers'-designation that reads: 'Awes Münze - Berlin' (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece came as issued and/or stored for decades but was clearly issue, used (ie. handled over the years) as can be seen on the pictures. These attractive (I deem) semi-official D.L.V.-related presentation-pieces were most likely used as some sort of awards and were (presumably) handed-out during a specific D.L.V.-related-event (named the: '1. Fliegertreffen' as was held in Berlin in the year 1934). This particular example originates from a long-year collection of various such decorative prices and plaques I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty very unusually encountered! - D.L.V.-related presentation-piece ie. 'Erinnerungs- o. nichttragbare Plakette' that might merit some further investigative work. It should be noted that these pre-Luftwaffe ie. D.L.V.-related presentation-pieces come most certainly not that often for sale!
