Superb, WWI-period 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' being a truly converse-shaped example that is void of a makers'-designation but that is unmistakenly produced by the (scarcely seen!) maker: 'Petz & Lorenz'

The very attractive cross - which is a typical quite-vaulted (ie. truly converse!) shaped example as is more often encountered - has - I deem - never been cleaned and retains a very nice- (albeit minimally tarnished) age-patina and/or great pronounced detail. This WWI-period example - which is a magnetic example as more often seen - comes mounted onto its original (and naturally fully functional) (typical!) flute-like-shaped pin and has a totally unaltered (and also functional) catch (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross - which shows a nicely preserved, 'blackened'- and/or fairly 'satin-like'- ie. somewhat 'matted'-like 'inner-core' - shows some minimal age but is totally void of any real damage: it retains a very nice appearance overall. The piece is as stated above totally void of a makers'-designation but is by all means a typical example that was produced by the (desirable and scarcely observed!) maker (ie. Hersteller) named: 'Petz & Lorenz' (various details such as the 'dotted-styled inner-core' and/or typical pin- ie. pin/catch-set-up only confirm this as can be seen on the pictures). The cross is, moreover, just a bit dirty and tarnished simply caused by years of storage and/or moderate wear but retains a great unmessed-with and/or uncleaned, age-patina. Simply an attractive IC-first-class by an unusally seen maker that was never before part of a collection: I deem that I have priced this attractive WWI-period example, accordingly!
