Interesting, WH (Luftwaffe) officers'- (ie. evt. NCO-) type breasteagle (ie. 'Brustadler') as was executed in neatly machine-woven silver-coloured thread (ie. 'flatwire-style') and that comes as GI-sent-back 'Christmas-souvenir'

This is an interesting - and clearly used- and or carefully tunic-removed! - example of a WH (Luftwaffe) officers'- (ie. evt. NCO-) type breasteagle (ie. 'Brustadler') as was executed in neatly woven silver-coloured thread (ie. BeVo 'flatwire-style') onto a greyish-blue-coloured- and/or linnen-based background and that comes as a period GI-sent-back 'Christmas-souvenir' and that comes in an overall nice, albeit clearly used- and/or worn, condition. The - actually not that easily encountered! - example is executed in the so-called: 'BeVo-flat-wire'-weave style and is executed in silverish-coloured thread onto a (typical) bluish-grey coloured and/or linnen-based background: moreover, is it nicely backed with LW-type wool (as more often). These eagles were presumably intended for officer- (ie. NCO-) usage and have truly stunning detail (as can be seen on the pictures). The eagle came mounted onto a piece of carton-based material (sized: 16 x 9 cms.) and was used by an American soldier ie. GI as a period 'Christmas-souvenir': it shows the inked text: 'Xmas card' and was addressed to a certain: 'Mrs. P.L. Holton' residing in Kansas City (as can be noticed on the pictures). It should be noted that this eagle-type is often copied: the piece on offer is naturally a genuine, period-example that I acquired in the US: it was kept as such for decades. Simply a great opportunity to acquire a truly unusually seen, WH (Luftwaffe) officers'- (ie. NCO-) type Luftwaffe-type breasteagle as was executed in 'BeVo-flat-wire'-weave style!
