This is a very attractive - and actually truly scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) neatly hand-embroidered- and/or: typical officers'- (ie. 'variant'-) pattern so-called: 'Edelweiss'-arm-badge (as was specifically intended for usage by an officer serving within the 'Gebirgsjäger-Truppen' ie. mountain-troops) and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem issued- albeit simply never worn- nor once tunic-attached-), condition. The very attractive armbadge - which shows extraordinary embroidery (as can be seen on the pictures) - is executed on a piece of darker-green-coloured wool and shows a neatly hand-embroidered 'Edelweiss'-flower, that is beautifully hand-embroidered in silverish- (ie. golden-) toned) 'braid' (ie. bullion). The piece is, however, not additionally 'backed' (which is more often but not always the case). The badge shows some storage-age only and is totally void of any damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply a superb example of such an officers'- (ie. 'variant'-) pattern type 'Edelweiss'-arm-badge that is priced according to its comparative rarity and/or desirability: most certainly one of the best such patches I ever had on offer for quite some time!
