WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' being a typical maker- (ie. 'K.A.G.'-) marked example that comes mounted onto an unusually confectioned ribbon
Category:
This is an attractive example of an (I deem) surely issued- and just moderately worn example of a WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) and that comes as issued and/or recently found. The detail on this example is nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross came together with its (unusualy!) confectioned ie. folded ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') and comes mounted onto a metal- (ie. genuine silver-) based 'snap-on-clip' (as can be noticed on the pictures). The IC truly retains nice details and shows an impressed makers'-designation in its ring (that reads 'K.A.G.') as can be seen on the pictures. The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'shiny-style'-) core and is void of any damage or paint-loss and has been truly nicely preserved. The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). The ribbon (approx. 13 cms. sized) shows only minimal usage and/or staining. Simply a neat WWI-period- and neatly maker-marked 'EKII. Klasse' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
