WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' that comes mounted onto its unusually folded ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt')
Category:
This is an attractive example of a clearly issued and/or moderately worn WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) that comes mounted onto its unusually folded ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as issued and/or recently found. The detail on this example is nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross came together with its neatly folded (somewhat shortened and/or confectioned) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The IC truly retains nice details but I could not find a makers'-designation (the ring is firmly obscured by the ribbon (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'shiny-style'-) core and is void of any real damage or paint-loss and has been truly nicely preserved. The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). The ribbon (approx. 10 cms. sized) shows only minimal usage and/or staining. Simply a neat WWI-period, 'EKII. Klasse' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
