This is a truly very attractive - hardly worn and actually quite detailed and most certainly not that easily encountered! - 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class infantry assault-badge ie. IAB) being a neatly maker- (ie. 'ÜÜ'- ie. 'E. Ferd. Wiedmann'-) marked so-called: 'solid-back, Lily Pad hinge'-example as was executed in (bright) silver-toned- and/or zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') and that comes in an overall very nice- (and I deem issued albeit never or only minimally used ie. worn-), condition. This example is a nicely maker-marked award and shows the various characteristics - such as for example the typical 'Lily Pad-hinge'-set-up, silver-coloured- and thin-shaped pin and/or typically modelled catch - as only seen on IABs as produced by the: 'E. Ferd. Wiedmann'-company as based in the town of Franfurt am Main. The badge seems to be totally uncleaned and has a still a very attractive and just minimally darkened age-patina: all of its period-applied silver-toned finish has been nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and present. The piece - which originates from a private-household where it was recently found - was never cleaned and has been nicely preserved. Simply an honest - and fully untouched! - 'Feinzink'-based, silver-class IAB as was produced the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'E. Ferd. Wiedmann'!
