HJ- (ie. 'Flieger-HJ') specialist-armbadge (or: 'Schulabzeichen') depicting the text: 'Techn. Vorschule d. Luftwaffe - 1 - Dessau' (still retaining most of its 'RzM'-etiket!)

This is an attractive - and actually scarcely encountered! - HJ ('Hitlerjugend'- ie. 'Flieger-HJ'-) related and/or circular-shaped so-called: specialist-armbadge (or: 'Schulabzeichen') depicting the text: 'Techn. Vorschule d. Luftwaffe - 1 - Dessau' and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem issued and just minimally used- ie. presumably once tunic-attached-), condition. These neat circular-shaped arm-badges signified membership within one of the technical preparatory-airforce-schools (or institutes). The badge on offer here shows membership within such a school based in the town of Dessau: there were several of these youth training-institutes - it is said that 32 of such schools existed! - that mostly functioned under the direction of one the larger air-craft industrial companies (such as: 'Focke Wulf', 'Messerschmitt' and others). The neat badge - executed in golden-yellow-coloured (linnen-based) stitching onto a blue-coloured- and/or linnen-based background - shows in its centre a larger-sized '1'-numeral and is void of an extra backing: it just shows some minimal age and/or staining (as can be noticed on the pictures). These circular-shaped badges were instituted as late as 1944 and 'replaced' the until that date used armbands (ie. 'Ärmelstreifen') having a similar text. Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this specimen still retains (most of) its period-attached 'RzM'-etiket (as can be noticed on the pictures). Simply a very attractive - and surely scarcely encountered! - youth-related arm-badge ie. 'HJ-Schulabzeichen'!
