This is an attractive example of a just moderately used- and worn, so-called: 'Einzelspange' (of the non-detachable pattern) showing a WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) and that comes as issued, clearly worn and/or recently found. The detail on this example is nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross comes 'mounted' onto a metal-based 'clasp' (with functional pin/catch) that is neatly backed with black-toned wool as was intended for wearing this example on a 'going-out'- ie. dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock'. The IC truly retains very nice details it has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'shiny-style'-) core and is void of any real damage or paint-loss and has been truly nicely preserved. The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). The ribbon shows some moderate usage and/or staining. Simply a neat WWI-period, EK II. Klasse 'Einzelspange' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
