This is an interesting, 8-pieced 'WWI'- (ie. TR-) related grouping comprising of a 5-pieced medal-bar (ie. 'Ordenspange'), two accompanying ribbon-bars (ie. 'Feld- o. Bandspangen'), a WWI-period black-class wound-badge (ie. 'Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz') and 4 award-documents ie. citations all awarded to the WWI- (and WWII-) veteran and 'Feldwebel' named: Gustav Adolf Rittler born in 1897 and that come all in a wonderful and untouched condition as recently found. The five-pieced, 'WWI'- (and/or: Third Reich-) period-related medal-bar (ie. 'Ordenspange') respectively depicts a WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class), a neatly 'Buntmetall'-based: 'Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern' (or: War Merits' Cross second class with swords), a medal: 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' (ie. 'Ost'- or Eastern-Front medal), a: 'Baden Karl Friedrich Verdienstmedaille in Silber' and a: 'Frontkämpferkreuz 1914-18' (ie.: 'Kriegsteilnehmerkreuz mit Schwertern') all five awards coming in an overall very nice- (and I deem only moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. All five awards are truly nicely preserved examples that seem to have never been cleaned nor polished: they come in an equally minimally tarnished- ie. dusty (ie. used) condition and come naturally mounted onto their period ribbons. The detail on the 'EKII. Klasse' is truly stunning and nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). It retains nice details and has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'shiny-style') core and is void of any damage nor paint-loss. The FKK 1914-18 shows a clear makers'-designation on its back (that reads: 'R.V. Pforzheim 32'). The detail on this award is also nicely preserved but it does show some tarnished age-patina and some minimal staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The medal-bar comes with a 5-pieced 'Feld- o. Bandspange' showing the exact same combination and also holds an (interesting and quite unusual!) 2-pieced ribbon-bar as executed in enamelled metal(!). Also Rittlers' WWI-period black-class wound-badge (ie. 'Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz') came with the group. These items were recently found as such at a private-household and were never before in collectors'-hands: they came with four award-documents ie. citations (which come all four in great unmessed-with condition as can be noticed on the pictures). Simply a neat 8-pieced 'WWI'- (ie. TR-) related grouping that belonged to the WWI-veteran (and WWII-'Feldwebel'!) Gustav Adolf Rittler: I deem that this interesting grouping would merit further investigative work!
