This is an attractive - and not that commonly encountered! - example of an: 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class infantry assault badge ie. IAB) being a (typical) unmarked 'variant'-pattern-example as executed in zinc-based, silverish-toned (albeit tarnished) metal (ie. 'Feinzink') as was (I deem) produced by the: 'Deschler & Sohn'-company as was based in the town of München and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. This example is a (typical) non-maker-marked award as always: the piece has a 'typical' so-called: 'Junckers'-pattern catch and/or hinge set-up (as is more often seen seen on IABs by this maker). The badge - that in collectors'-circles is also known as the 'Deschler-Mutant'-pattern - seems to be totally uncleaned and has still an attractive and/or 'tarnished' age-patina: most of its period-applied finish has been regrettably faded-away (ie. 'migriert') as more often. The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and present. The piece just shows some moderate wear and/or staining but was with certainty never cleaned. Simply a very attractive - and honest! - so-called: 'Deschler-Mutant'-pattern IAB that is with certainty accordingly priced!
