This is an attractive - and actually never before seen! - metal-based WH (Heeres) 'souvenir' match-box holder showing (on its side) the text: 'Kriegsjahre 1939/41' and showing a picture of marching troops, steelhelmet and iron cross surrounded by oak-leaves and that comes in an overall nice (albeit moderately used-), condition. The piece is fairly small-sized and measures only 5,5 x 4 cms.: it is ideally fitted to carry a box of matches. It came with a (period!) box of matches (of the make: 'Holie') still in place as found (as can be seen on the pictures). I am convinced that this is a scarcely encountered soldiers'-'souvenir-item' that was acquired by a soldier as a neat and handy souvenir. I know that these items are often copied: this is a 100% garuanteed, period-item that was recently uncovered at a private-household. Just the first such neat item I ever had on offer!
