This is an attractive - partly damaged but nevertheless actually not that easily ie. truly scarcely encountered! - 'Flugzeugführerabzeichen in Stoff' or: pilots'-badge) being a detailed, hand-embroidered example that is executed in differently-toned, silverish braid onto bluish-grey-toned (ie. typical officers'-pattern) cloth and that comes in a truly worn- (ie. most certainly carefully tunic-removed-), condition. This particular example has great pronounced detail and is not additionally 'backed' as is more often encountered (as can be seen on the pictures). The neat badge - that originates from a private household in Germany where it was recently uncovered - shows some obvious age and/or staining simply caused by moderate wear and/or decades of storage (it still shows some of the stitching-remains with which it was once tunic-attached). These detailed cloth-based- ie. neatly hand-embroiderd versions were preferred by the soldiers, NCOs and/or officers 'stationed in the field' for obvious reasons. Simply an attractive and fully 'text-book' example of a hand-embroidered WH (Luftwaffe) 'Flugzeugführerabzeichen in Stoff' that is I deem priced according to its partly damaged condition: a pristine example would most certainly cost the double of my asking-price!
