This is a truly attractive - I deem just moderately used and/or worn and actually truly scarcely found! - WH (Heeres) neatly hand-embroidered- and/or: typical officers'- (ie. 'variant'-) pattern so-called: 'Edelweiss'-arm-badge (as was specifically intended for usage by an officer serving within the 'Gebirgsjäger-Truppen' ie. mountain-troops) and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit surely issued- and as stated above just moderately worn- ie. I deem once tunic-attached-), condition. The very attractive armbadge - which shows extraordinary embroidery (as can be seen on the pictures) - is executed on a piece of darker-green-coloured wool and shows a neatly hand-embroidered 'Edelweiss'-flower, that is beautifully hand-embroidered in silver-white- (and golden!) toned 'braid' (ie. bullion) as can be noticed on the pictures. The piece is, moreover, neatly 'backed' with a piece of black-coloured- and thin-shaped paper (which is more often but not always the case) and does show (a partial present) paper-based inventory-etiket. The patch originates from a private-household in Germany (where it was found together with the collar-tab-pair I offer under nr. #72446 and shoulderboard pair I offer under nr. #72448): all insignia-pieces belonged to the same officer who wore these insignia and stored them for decades. The arm-badge shows some minimal wear- and/or storage-age only (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply a very nice example of such an officers'- (ie. 'variant'-) pattern type 'Edelweiss'-arm-badge that is priced according to its comparative rarity and/or desirability: I deem that I did price this attractive arm-patch, accordingy!
