Unusual, HJ ('Hitlerjugend' ie. 'Flieger HJ'-) specialist armbadge (or: 'Schulabzeichen') depicting the text: 'Techn. Vorschule d. Luftwaffe - Dessau' and that comes in an overall nice- (ie. moderately used and/or tunic-removed-), condition

This is a very attractive - and actually scarcely encountered! - specific HJ ('Hitlerjugend' ie. 'Flieger HJ'-) specialist armbadge (or: 'Schulabzeichen') depicting the text: 'Techn. Vorschule d. Luftwaffe - Dessau' with below some oakleaves and a swastika that comes in an overall nice- (ie. just moderately used and/or tunic-removed-), condition. These neat diamond-shaped badges signified membership within one of the technical preparatory airforce-schools (or institutes). The badge on offer here shows membership within such a school based in the town of Dessau: there were several of these youth training institutes - it is said that 32 of such schools existed! - that mostly functioned under the direction of one the larger air-craft industrial companies (such as: 'Focke Wulf', 'Messerschmitt' and others). The neat badge - which is executed in silver-white coloured- (and/or linnen-based) machine-stitching onto a darker-blue- (ie. almost black-) toned and/or woolen-based background - was most certainly used- and/or worn and does show some truly minimal wear, age and/or slight staining. These diamond-shaped badges (ie. 'Räute') can easily be graded 'scarce' and were instituted as late as 1944 and 'replaced' the (until that date) used similar armbands ('Ärmelstreifen') having a similar text. Simply a very nice and with certainty scarcely encountered youth-related arm-badge!
