This is an very attractive example of a WH (Kriegsmarine) breast-eagle (ie. 'Brustadler für Mannschaften u. Uffz. der Kriegsmarine o. Küsten-Artillerie') being a 'standard-pattern'- and machine-embroidered example on a field-grey-coloured (and typical woolen-based!) background and that comes in a simply never used- (ie. still 'virtually mint'-), condition. The piece - which is of the pattern that was worn on the various field-grey-coloured tunics and attire throughout the war - comes in a never tunic-attached condition. It is nicely machine-embroidered in golden-yellow-toned linnen and is executed on a typical, field-grey-coloured- (and woolen-based) background. The piece - that is void of an additionally 'backing' but that shows a cheese-duck-based reinforcement (as can be noticed on the pictues) - just shows some minor staining simply caused by handling and storage. This example originated from a small naval breast-eagle-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. I deem that this very attractive - and moderately used! - WH 'Kriegsmarine o.
