Stunning, WH (Kriegsmarine) bright-golden-toned- and/or aluminium-based belt-buckle (being a maker- ie.: 'R.S.&S.'-marked (and '1938'-dated!) example that comes mounted onto its leather-based tongue
Category:
This is a very difficult and scarce buckle to encounter: a simply hardly used - and truly very nicely preserved! - example of a WH (Kriegsmarine) bright-golden-toned- (ie. 'feuervergoldeter'), aluminium-based belt-buckle (ie. 'Koppelschloss für Mannschaften und Unteroffiziere der Kriegsmarine') being a typical maker- (ie.: 'R.S.&S.'- thus by the company: 'Richard Sieper & Söhne'-) marked example that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem hardly used- nor worn- ie. still 'virtually mint'), condition. The buckle of offer here comes in a truly wonderful condition and does only show some truly minimal wear and/or scratching as usually encountered - but truly retains almost all of its golden-toned finish remaining (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece came period-mounted onto its (brown-toned) leather-based tab that shows an oval-shaped stamp as to be expected (as can be seen on the pictures). The stamp shows the producing-company (ie. 'R. Sieper & Söhne - Lüdenscheid') and the year of production '1938': moreover, does its back show a 'Marine-Abnahme'-stamp (ie. eagle, 'M-'character and swastika as can be seen on the pictures). The buckle also shows the super-imposed makers'-designation 'R.S.&S. on its back (as can be seen on the pictures). I deem that I have priced this truly 'almost minty' WH (Kriegsmarine) belt-buckle, accordingly!
