Incomplete 'hollow'-styled, 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based version as was procuced by the: 'B.H. Mayer'- (ie. 'Otto Schickle'-) company

This is a neat - regrettably incomplete and I deem just moderately used and/or worn but nevertheless still nicely preserved! - so-called: 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer assault badge or PAB) being a detailed and/or typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based version as was procuced by the: 'B.H. Mayer- (ie. 'Otto Schickle'-) company and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately worn- ie. most certainly issued-), condition. The badge on offer here concerns a desirable (I deem early- ie. mid-war-period-) hollow-styled, zinc-based specimen that was most certainly never cleaned nor polished: a fair bit of its silver-toned finish has been nicely preserved: it just shows some obvious age and/or tarnish. As stated above, is this piece a non-maker-marked example (as always by this specific maker) that shows various characteristics only seen with PABs as produced by the: 'B.H. Mayer'- (and presumably distributed by the) 'Otto Schickle'-company based in the town of Pforzheim. The neat piece - which is quite pronounced and has naturally great pronounced detail - naturally shows all the details as to be expected for a badge by this particular maker. It deals I deem with a so-called: 'Hollow Zinc'-based-example (as is uniquely numbered with the reference-number: '4.1.1.' according to the excellent reference-work entitled: 'The Panzer-Assault badge of WWII' by my Belgian friend Philippe de Bock). It was recently found as such at a German flea-market and was never before in collectors'-hands. Regrettably comes this example in a damaged ie. incomplete condition and misses its catch. These neat hollow-back PABs by the 'B.H. Mayer'-company are often missing in collections and can easily be graded 'scarce'. Simply a an attractive and honest, 'silver'-class PAB that is I deem priced accordingly!
