Iron Cross 2nd class (or: 'EK II. Klasse') being a maker- (ie. '3'-) marked example that comes together with its minimally confectioned ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt') as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Wilhelm Deumer'

The attractive piece - which was presumably issued but that was simply hardly worn- ie. once mounted - came together with its nicely pre-folded- and/or period-shortened ie. confectioned (and approx. 14 cms. long-sized) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The cross - which shows a clear makers'-designation: '3' stamped into its ring - was with certainty never cleaned and has an attractive and only minimally tarnished age-patina: it has lost, however, most of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and has just a minimally 'tarnished' finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. clearly 'satin'-like ie. somewhat 'matted'-style-) core: it is truly void of any paint-damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Wilhelm Deumer' as was based in the town of Lüdenscheid and has truly nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a (numbered!) cross by this desirable maker: 'Wilhelm Deumer'. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive, maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' by the: that will be hard to be upgraded!
