Zinc-based, WH (Heeres) 'Gebirgsjäger-Nachrichten'-related ID-disc bearing the clearly stamped unit-designation that reads: '6/Geb.Nach.Ers.Abt. 18' and that comes as issued and/or worn
Category:
This is an attractive - with certainty scarcely encountered and truly used and/or worn! - example of a greyish-coloured- and/or typical zinc-based, WH (Heeres) 'Gebirgsjäger-Nachrichtenn'-related ID-disc (ie. 'Erkennungsmarke') bearing the clearly stamped unit-designation that simply reads: '6/Geb.Nach.Ers.Abt. 18' and that as such belonged to a soldier (ie. NCO or even officer) who served within the 6th company of the replacement (ie. 'Ergänzungs o. Ersatz') mountain-troop, signals-unit, numbered: '18'. The disc comes in an overall nice (albeit clearly used ie. worn-), condition (and is executed in an attractive letter-type!): it does show the clear evidence of having been used ie. worn and shows some minimal staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The disc originates from a private-household in Germany where it was recently uncovered and was as such most certainly issued, worn- and/or stored for decades. Of interest is, moreover, the fact that the disc shows on it back the impressed text: 'Blutgruppe' (ie blood-group-type) but this is strangely not filled-in (as can be noticed on the pictures). The disc shows a clearly stamped bearers-numeral that reads: '113'. Simply a 100% garuanteed original 'Gebirgsjäger-Nachrichten'-related -related ID-disc that is I deem accordingly priced!
