This is a truly attractive - and with certainty very scarcely encountered! - example of a WH (Heeres) so-called: trade- and/or special-career arm-insignia (or: 'Laufbahn- o. Tätigkeitsabzeichen') as was specifically intended for an army: 'Wallmeister' (or: fortification-construction NCO) that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem just minimally worn- ie. presumably once-tunic-attached-), condition. The neat patch is executed on a darker-green-coloured- and/or woolen-based background and shows the (Gothic-styled, very detailed and/or neatly hand-embroidered) 'W'-character as executed in bright-yellow-coloured linnen. The maker-marked patch is nicely backed with greyish-coloured linnen as is more often encountered and does show some minimal carton-remains on its back simply caused by having been glued in an album or scrapbook once (as can be seen on the pictures). The patch shows some minimal age and/or staining simply caused by decades of storage and minimal wear. This particular example originated from a larger cloth- and/or shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive WH (Heeres) trade- ie. specialist badge: one of the more difficult to encountered specimen of the extensive series!
