This is a truly attractive (I deem) mid- (ie. later-war-) period, single, but nevertheless very scarcely found and clearly tunic-removed, WH (Heeres) field-grey-coloured, woolen-based- and/or bright-red-piped so-called: 'Sturmgeschütze'-collar-tab having a 'Totenkopf' (ie. skull-device) period-attached and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit most certainly used- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat piece - which was amongst others used on the field-grey-coloured 'wrap-around' 'Sturmgeschütze o. Sturm-Artillerie'-tunics - has the 'standard-pattern', brownish-coloured- (and/or: typical 'Buckram'-based) backing as is more often encountered and does show some regular age, wear and/or minimal staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which has the neat 'silk-like'-type- and/or: bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured piping attached - is (I deem) of a mid- (ie. later-) war-period-pattern that has clearly been used and/or tunic-removed (some stitching-holes and/or thread-remains are still visible and/or present). The tab has a typical (zinc- ie. 'Feinzink'-based) skull (ie. 'Totenkopf') period-attached (as can be seen on the pictures). This particular tab originates from a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. These genuine 'Sturmgeschütze o. Sturm-Artillerie'-type collar-insignia come almost never up for sale and can easily be graded 'very scarce': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
