  1. Metal Eagles and Metal Cap-Devices

This is an attractive - just minimally worn and nicely detailed! - example of a WH (Luftwaffe)-related (and I deem merely officers'-pattern!) so-called breast-badge ie. eagle-device (as was specifically intended for usage by commisoned staff working within the WH (Luftwaffe) 'Generalluftzeugmeister' (ie. 'GL') organisation and being an example that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. I deem just minimally used- ie. once tunic-attached-), condition. This fairly unknown TR-period-organisation - which was staffed with merely civilian personal but had commissioned (ie. air-force-) staff in the lead - was presumably active in various industrial tasks dealing with the greater Luftwaffe. There is not much reference-work for the exact tasking ie. usage of these breast-badges: they were worn as breast-badges on the tunics (see attached photo numbered 4, wherein a soldier is seen wearing this badge on his breast). These badges are most times incorrectly referred to as 'visor-cap'-badges but were merely used as breast-badges). The badge on offer here is a truly very detailed example that is executed in greyish-silver-coloured- and I deem zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based metal. It shows a neat 'Ges.Gesch.'-patent-pending-designation on its back but misses one (of its three) prongs. The neat badge shows some truly minimal aging, simply caused by storage and/or minimal wear. Simply a very attractive - and most certainly unusually encountered! - 'Generalluftzeugmeister'-eagle-device - ie. breast-eagle - that is priced according to its obvious rarity and/or desirability!
