Unusually found, 'Einzelspange' showing a: 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' (or: Eastern Front- or: 'Ost'-medal) being a detailed- and/or typical, zinc- ie. 'Feinzink'-based specimen

This is a very attractive example of an - actually very unusally seen! - so-called: 'Einzelspange' showing a: 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' (or: Eastern Front medal) being a detailed- and/or typical, zinc- ie. 'Feinzink'-based specimen that has been (I deem) hardly used- nor worn. The detail on this example is extraordinary: it has never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and somewhat 'frosted'- (ie. tarnished) age-patina. The medal came 'mounted' onto a single-pieced (metal-based- and with bright-red-coloured wool backed) clasp (with functional pin/catch) as was intended for wearing this example on a 'going-out'- ie. dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock'. This example - that is neaty 'backed' with a piece of bright-red-coloured wool - retains pronounced details and has a great ie. only minimally darkened- ie. tarnished age-patina: it retains most of its bluish-grey- and/or frosted-silver-toned finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The multi-coloured ribbon shows only minimal usage and/or staining. I could not determine if it is a maker-marked example: the ring is firmly hidden under the ribbon. It should be mentioned that it is actually quite unusual to find a: 'Winterschlacht im Osten 1941-42' (or: Eastern Front medal) that comes mounted as an: 'Einzelspange'!
