  1. Campaign Shields

This is a very attractive - and/or truly very detailed! - example of the (actually nowadays scarcely encountered!) WH (Luftwaffe) so-called: 'Demjansk'-campaign-shield and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem issued-, worn and/or most certainly once tunic-attached-), condition. The (typical magnetic and minimally converse-shaped) campaign-shield - which is executed in greyish-silver-coloured metal (ie.: 'Eisenblech') - comes naturally complete with its metal-based back-plate and retains all four of its originally attached pins ie. prongs in place but misses most of its (once-attached) beige-toned 'backing-paper' (as can be seen on the pictures). The shield - that comes mounted onto its piece of typical bluish-grey-woolen-based Lufwaffe cloth - shows some minimal aging caused by storage only: some minimal staining is visible and/or present but it still retains very nice detail as to be expected: moreover, is all of its protective lacquered finish nicely preserved. The shield was found at a private-household in Germany and was simply stored as such for decades: it was never before in a collection. The piece is just a bit 'bent into shape' by the recipient (nothing shocking though). It should furthermore be mentioned that these 'Demjansk'-campaign-shields are nowadays hard to come by: even more so when they are of the Luftwaffe-type. Simply a very nice - and naturally original! - example of this collectable and desirable campaign-shield that nowadays is not that often offered for sale: one of the nicest such examples I had on offer for quite some time!
