Zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Fallschirmschützen-Abzeichen' (being a maker-marked, 'Type A'-pattern example as was produced by the 'G.H. Osang'-company)

This is a truly very attractive - albeit just moderately worn and I deem mid- (ie. later-) war-period - example of a typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based version of a WH (Luftwaffe) 'Fallschirmschützen-Abzeichen' (or: paratroopers-war-badge) being a clearly maker-marked example that was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'G.H. Osang - Dresden' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The neat and truly very detailed badge - which as stated above has been just moderately worn - comes naturally mounted onto its functional (and totally unaltered) pin and/or catch (ie. set-up) as can be noticed on the pictures). These mid- (ie. later-) war-period badges show a 'loose' and/or detailed golden-coloured eagle-device attached (by means of two rivets as is visible on the back of the badge). These 'Type A'-pattern zinc-based badges show, however, nice and/or pronounced detail overall. The badge truly retains most of its period, golden-coloured finish and shows a somewhat tarnished age-patina as is more often encountered. The badge shows a clearly impressed makers'-designation on its back as to be expected and can with certainty be attributed to the maker: 'G.H. Osang' based in Dresden: the specific details on this badge fully corroborate this. Moreover, does it show a period-engraved inscription (ie. initials?) on its back. The piece originated from a private-household in Germany and is still somewhat stained ie. dirty but has most certainly never been cleaned. A similar example is also described in the excellent reference-book entitled: 'The German Luftwaffe & Heer Paratrooper Badges of World War II - 1936-1945' by Thomas M. Durante wherein this particular pattern is given the unique reference-designation: 'G.H. Osang - Type A'-variant. Simply a very desirable - and garuanteed original! - zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based 'G.H. Osang'-version of this desirable Luftwaffe-war-badge!
