WWI-period, so-called: 'Doppelspange' (being of the neat 'detachable'-pattern!) showing resp. a: 'Bayern Militär-Verdienstkreuz 2. Kl. ohne Schwn.' and an: 'EK II. Klasse' (and that comes with its accompanying 'Feld- o. Bandspange')

This is an attractive - and I deem just moderately used- and/or worn! - example of a WWI-period, so-called: 'Doppel- o. Ordenspange' being of the desirable 'detachable'-pattern and that is respectively showing a: 'Bayern Militär-Verdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwertern' and an: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) and that comes with its accompanying, dual-pieced ribbon-bar (ie. 'Feld- o. Bandspange') and that comes as issued, moderately worn and/or recently found. The detail on both awards is truly stunning and nicely preserved: both have - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and have an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The 'Bayern Militär-Verdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwertern' has a neat (and totally undamaged!) white- and/or black-coloured enamelled centre and shows a neat silverish (ie. 'frosted') appearance. The IC has equally nicely preserved details and has a neat, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'matted-style') core and is void of any damage or paint-loss. It does show some tarnished age-patina and minimal staining (as can be seen on the pictures). Both awards - which show their nicely preserved, period ribbons - come both 'period-mounted' onto a metal-based 'clasp' that is neatly 'backed' with bright-red-coloured wool (and that shows a functional pin- ie. catch-set-up) as was intended for wearing this example on a 'going-out'- ie. dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock'. Simply an attractive WWI-period, 'Doppelspange'-set that is with certainty accordingly priced!
