Stunning - and 'virtually mint'! - 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber' being a maker- (ie. 'W.H.'-) marked, 'solid-back' example by the Austrian-based maker: 'Wilhelm Hobacher' as was executed in bright silver-coloured, zinc-based metal

This example is a very attractive - and I deem simply never used nor worn! - clearly maker- (ie. 'W.H.'-) marked war-badge: it has a 'typical' catch- and/or hinge (-set-up) as is more often encountered with IABs by this particular Austrian maker. This specimen can be determined as a 'mid-war-period-variant' that can be attributed to the Austrian-based maker: 'Wilhelm Hobacher' as based in the town of Wien (ie. Vienna). The badge was probably issued but comes in a simply never used- nor worn- ie. still 'virtually mint', condition (as can be seen on the pictures). It was most certainly never cleaned nor polished and truly retains all of its (fairly bright!) silver-coloured finish as can be seen on the pictures (something that is NOT always the case with these mid-war-period 'W.H.'-marked examples!). The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and/or present (they are both in pristine condition). The piece - which originates from a private-household where it was recently found - came still packed in its period piece of thin-shaped wrapping-paper shows as stated above no wear, age nor staining. Simply a very attractive 'solid-back' IAB-variant by the desirable Austrian-based maker 'Wilhelm Hobacher' that is impossible to be upgraded and that is with certainty accordingly priced!
