This is an attractive example of an (I deem) surely issued- but hardly worn example of a WWI-period: 'Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse' (or: iron cross second class) and that comes as issued and/or recently found. The detail on this example is nicely preserved: it has - I deem - never been cleaned nor polished and has an attractive and/or minimally tarnished age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross came together with its folded (shortened and/or confectioned) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The IC truly retains nice details and shows a regrettably undecypherable makers'-designation stamped into its ring (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. 'shiny-style'-) core and is void of any real damage or paint-loss and has been truly nicely preserved. The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished (as can be seen on the pictures). The ribbon (approx. sized 14,5 cms.) shows only minimal usage and/or staining. Simply a neat WWI-period 'EKII. Klasse' that is with certainty accordingly priced!
