Superb - and/or fully matching! - pair of (early- ie. pointed-styled) WH (Heeres) NCO- (ie. 'M36'- or: 'M40'-) pattern, 'cyphered' shoulderstraps as was intended for usage by a: 'Feldwebel des Maschinengewehr-Batallions 4'

This is an attractive - fully matching and with certainty scarcely encountered! - pair of (early- ie. pointed-style-) WH (Heeres) NCO- (ie. 'M36'- or: 'M40'-) type, so-called: 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstraps (being a pair having no branchcolour as per regulation) as was specifically intended for an NCO (ie. 'Feldwebel' or sergeant) who served within the: 'Maschinengewehr-Batallion 4' (or: infantry-related, heavy machine-gunners-battailion numbered: '4') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn- and/or once-tunic-attached-), condition. The straps are moderately worn and do show some regular wear, age and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps have as stated above no piping nor branchcolour attached: they are of the 'generic pattern' (as can be seen on the pictures) and measure approximately 10,5 cms. in length each. The pieces show the 'standard'-pattern (somewhat shiny-) silver-coloured, NCO-braid attached and come mounted onto their functional tongues (as can be seen on the pictures). The shoulderstraps show each a: (bright-silver-toned, Gothic-styled, larger-sized- and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: 'M'-cypher, a set of (also 'Buntmetall'-based-) '4'-numerals (ie. 'Ziffern') and a pair of (equally-styled- and smaller-sized-) pips attached, denoting that the pair was intended for an NCO with the rank of: 'Feldwebel' (ie. sergeant). All six devices do show some regular age and/or minimal tarnish (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair is constructed from the 'regular-type' wool and is (I deem) a 'standard-issued'-pair (and not a pair that originated from a private tailor-shop or alike). These type of shoulderstraps are of the fairly early-type straps and were worn in the period around 1937/1940 (and were 'worn-out' even during the rest of the war). Simply a very attractive - and with certainty desirable! - 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) 'Infanterie' ie. 'Maschinengewehr-Abteilung'-related shoulderstrap-pair: I deem that I priced this attractive pair according to its comparative scarcity!
