Superb - and clearly maker- (ie. 'E.S.P.'-) marked! - example of a black-class wound-badge (or: 'Verwundeten-Abzeichen in Schwarz') as being produced by the (unusually seen!) maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Eugen Schmidthausser' (ie. 'E.S.P.')
Category:
The black-class wound-badge (or: 'Verwundeten-Abzeichen in Schwarz') on offer here - which is actually not that easily found and that can easily be graded 'scarce' - is hardly (or even never!) used ie. worn and just shows some minimal wear and/or aging: it retains most (is all!) of its original, black-coloured- and/or fairly 'matted' finish and was simply very nicely preserved over the years. The badge is as stated neatly maker-marked with the makers'-signification: 'E.S.P' on its back (as can be seen on the pictures) signifying that it deals with a piece that was produced the maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Eugen Schmidthausser' as based in the town of Pforzheim (ie. 'E.S.P.'). Of course, are the (regular- ie. thin-shaped-) pin and/or (typical) catch (-set-up) fully functional and of course present. This piece has never been cleaned nor polished: it shows some minimal dust and/or staining as to be expected. Simply a very attractive example 'variant'-WB by an unusually seen maker that comes not that often for sale!
