This is a very attractive - and actually not that easily encountered! - WH (Heeres) 'flatwire'-woven, officers'-type overseas cap-eagle (ie. 'Offiziersadler für Schiffchen') as was also intended for usage on the: 'Knautschmützen o. Alter-Art-Schirmmützen' ie. visor-caps and that comes in a wonderful- (ie. 'virtually mint- ie. unissued'-), condition. These desirable cap-eagles were intended for usage on the popular so-called: 'Knautschmützen' ie. 'Alter-art' visor-caps but saw also usage on the 'high-quality' officers'-type 'Schiffchen' (ie. side-caps). The eagle is executed in bright-silver-grey- ('flatwire'-type) thread on a field-grey-coloured background and comes in an absolute 'mint ie. unissued' condition and comes 'as straightly cut-off the role' (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which is executed in the so-called: 'BeVo flat-wire'-weave pattern as to be expected - comes 'as straightly cut-off the role' and just shows some minimal age ie. staining simply caused by decades of storage and/or handling but can naturally easily serve to restore any 'Knautschmütze'. Moreover, does it show some minimal glue-remains on its back simply caused by having glued into an album or scrapbook once (as can be noticed on the pictures). This example originates from a 'Musterbuch' (or: sample-book) that was period-compiled by the producing-company 'Offermann' as was based in the town of Ratingen!
