The very attractive - and with certainty rarely seen! - WH (Heeres) NCO-type, 'M40- (ie. 43'-) pattern- and neaty 'cyphered' shoulderstrap is piped in the neat white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour and measures approximately 11 cms. in length. It has the desirable 'silk-like'-type piping attached (as is more often encountered with these later-war-period straps). The strap is constructed from (typical) field-grey coloured wool as to be expected. It comes naturally mounted onto its functional tongue and shows the neat (Gothic-styled) 'US'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') attached (being both 'machine-stitched'-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei' in white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured wool ie. linnen as to be expected). It should be noted that all WH (Heeres) 'US'-type straps are actually quite hard to encounter and can easily be graded 'rare': even more so when they are neatly 'cyphered' as is this example. The piece shows some truly minimal age, wear and/or staining but is totally void of any real damage or alike. Simply a nice occasion to acquire a rarely seen 'M43'-pattern- and 'cyphered' (generic-styled) so-called: 'Unteroffiziersschule'-shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by a: 'Soldat der Infanterie-Truppen u. Mitglied einer Unteroffiziersschule': too bad that it is only a single example!
