This is a truly very attractive - and with certainty rarely seen and totally undamaged! - example of a WH (Luftwaffe) related, so-called: 'Internationales Segelflieger-Leistungsabzeichen in Silber' (ie. international glider-pilots-badge in silver recognisable by its silver-toned wreath) showing a unique bearers'-number that reads: '1400' and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit moderately used and/or worn-), condition. The very attractive badge shows three white-coloured-enamelled 'Schwingen' and is surrounded by a silver-coloured oak-leave-wreath (signifying that it is an: 'Internationales Segelflieger-Leistungsabzeichen in Silber'). These small-sized badges were worn by members of various TR-organisations but were also worn by 'regular' LW-staff on the standard LW tunics such as the 'Fliegerbluse' and/or other tunics. The neat badge originates from a German private-household and is just a bit dirty and shows some age and/or wear. The white- and blue-coloured (and neatly enamelled!) piece - which has an approximate diameter of only 2,3 cms. - shows a clear makers'-designation (that reads: 'Jörgen & Trep - Frankfurt a.M.') and also shows a '900' silver-content-marking (as is more often encountered) - and has truly nice enamel which is completely void of any damage: it is just a bit tarnished and darkened by age. It also bears the unique bearers’-number that reads: '1400' (as can be seen on the pictures). The pin comes mounted on its neat 'button-hole'-set-up (as more often). The pin is also described (without photo) in the 'Heering-Hüsken' lapel-pin-catalogue wherein it is given a unique reference-number (8816J) and an estimated value of 500 Euro! Simply a very attractive example of this truly rarely seen 'Luftwaffe'-related so-called: 'Internationales Segelflieger-Leistungsabzeichen in Silber': only the second such rare lapel-pin I ever had on offer!
