This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single! - later-war-period, so-called: 'M44'-pattern- and typical simplified WH (Heeres) NCO-type shoulderstrap as was piped in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for usage by a: 'Feldwebel der Pionier-Truppen' (or: and NCO ie. sergeant who served within the army engineer-troops) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The shoulderstrap - which measures approximately 11,9 cms. in length as more often seen - has the neat 'silk-like'-type piping attached (as is more encountered with these later-war-period shoulderstraps). The shoulderstrap - which originates from a larger cloth- and insignia-collection I recently acquired for the web-site - is constructed following the typical '1944 cloth-minimising production-manner', using different shades of wool and/or material (as can be seen in the pictures). The strap shows the (typical) bluish-grey-coloured ie. sub-dued NCO-braid and a single (zinc-based and smaller-sized) pip attached and comes without tongue: it was carefully 'cut-off' a tunic. It should be noted that all 'M44'-pattern, NCO-type straps are actually quite hard to find and can easily be graded 'scarce': even more so when they are piped in the desirable, black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour. Simply an attractive - and/or fully 'text-book'!, M44-pattern NCO-type 'Pioniere'-shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by a: 'Feldwebel der Pionier-Truppen'!
